Tiger Muay Thai and MMA will offer seven athletic scholarships to fighters in 2014.

Trainer and UFC veteran Brian Ebersole on Wednesday announced the news, revealing that the Phuket, Thailand-based gym will hold invite-only tryouts this coming April. Five MMA scholarships and two muay Thai scholarships will be awarded based on performance at the tryouts.

“Tryouts will be held on April 10, 11, and 12. Invited athletes should be prepared to arrive in Phuket on or before April 9, as well as remain in Phuket until April 19,” the announcement reads. “TMT will not manage fighters. TMT may be able to assist in booking MMA bouts but can make no guarantees. We will, however, be happy to consult athletes, their families, and their current coaches in order to help an athlete make solid decisions in regards to training and competition.”

Scholarships include training at the TMT facility, as well as a housing stipend and a fighter meal plan. The tryouts will be filmed, and invited athletes will sign both an insurance waiver and a release form prior to engaging in any activities at the gym.

Fighters interested in the tryouts can find application instructions here.
