Thiago Santos will lock horns with Anthony Smith in a middleweight duel at UFC Fight Night 125.
Santos confirmed the pairing via Twitter following an initial report from Combate. UFC Fight Night 125 takes place at Mangueirinho Gymnasium in Belem, Para, Brazil on Feb. 3. The card will likely air on Fox Sports 1 following early prelims on UFC Fight Pass.
Santos enters the bout on a three-fight winning streak. The 33-year-old Brazilian has finished Jack Hermansson, Gerald Meerschaert and Jack Marshman – all by technical knockout and inside of two rounds – during his current tear. “Marreta” is 8-4 during his UFC tenure overall.
Smith has also won three straight in the Octagon and 11 of his last 12 professional fights overall. Most recently, “Lionheart” scored a third-round knockout victory over ex-Bellator MMA champion Hector Lombard at UFC Fight Night 116 on Sept. 16.
