A trio of contests was recently announced for the UFC Fight Night 101 card in Melbourne on Nov. 27.
Ben Nguyen will meet Geane Herrera at flyweight; Yusuke Kasuya will face Alex Volkanovski at lightweight and Damien Brown will lock horns with Jon Tuck at 155 pounds at the upcoming event. The Las Vegas-based promotion confirmed the matchups through The Daily Telegraph and The Courier Mail.
UFC Fight Night takes place at Rod Laver Arena and is headlined by a middleweight rematch between Luke Rockhold and Ronaldo Souza. The evening’s main card airs on Fox Sports 1.
Nguyen had an eight-fight winning streak snapped at UFC Fight Night “McDonald vs. Lineker,” where he suffered a second-round TKO loss to Louis Smolka. Herrera is 1-2 in the Octagon, with his lone triumph coming against Joby Sanchez at “The Ultimate Fighter 22” finale.
Kasuya made his promotional debut at UFC Fight Night “Barnett vs. Nelson,” dropping a unanimous verdict to Nick Hein. Volkanovski will make his first Octagon foray with a 13-1 career mark that includes 11 triumphs inside the distance.
Brown garnered his first promotional triumph at UFC 201 thanks to a first-round knockout of Cesar Arzamendia. Tuck has alternated wins and loss in his six Octagon appearances, most recently losing to Josh Emmett via split decision at UFC Fight Night “Overeem vs. Arlovski.”
