Three Title Fights Slated for December WEC
World Extreme Cagefighting champions Urijah Faber (Pictures), Paulo Filho (Pictures) and Doug Marshall (Pictures) will attempt to defend their
respective belts on Dec. 12, the organization announced
Thursday.
Already confirmed as the VERSUS-televised main event, Faber puts the featherweight belt on the line against his highest ranked opponent yet in veteran Jeff Curran (Pictures).
The organization's light heavyweight champion Doug Marshall (Pictures) -- the only carryover champ from Zuffa's purchase of WEC -- fights Cuba's Ariel Gandulla (Pictures).
Perhaps the highest profile fighter on its roster, WEC middleweight champion Paulo Filho (Pictures), will also defend his belt. The WEC says his opponent will be named in the near future.
Former UFC lightweight champion Jens Pulver (Pictures) drops 10 pounds to fight at featherweight in his WEC debut. The veteran faces hungry up-and-comer Cub Swanson (Pictures).
Live televised action begins from Las Vegas' Hard Rock Hotel & Casino at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m PT on VERSUS.
