Tickets for the UFC’s debut in Sweden on April 14 sold out in three hours, making it the fastest-selling event on European soil in the promotion’s history.

“People have told me that the Swedish market is great for the UFC and now our fans just proved it,” UFC President Dana White said in a release. “I really like to take the UFC to new markets. I’m very excited to come to Stockholm in April, and the event will be outstanding.”
Scheduled to take place at the Ericsson Globe Arena in Stockholm, UFC on Fuel TV 2 is headlined by a light heavyweight clash between rising 24-year-old Swedish prospect Alexander Gustafsson and former Pride Fighting Championships standout Antonio Rogerio Nogueira.

Marie Lindqvist, head of communications at the venue, said in the release that the card is one of the fastest-selling events ever to be held at the Globe.

Gustafsson last fought at UFC 141, where he scored a first-round technical knockout win over Vladimir Matyushenko. “The Mauler” has been victorious in four of his five Octagon appearances, with all of his wins coming by of knockout, technical knockout or submission.

Nogueira halted a two-fight skid at UFC 140, stopping former light heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz in the opening frame with punches and elbows to the body. The Brazilian is 3-2 in the UFC overall, with his other wins coming against Jason Brilz and Luiz Cane.
