Tiffany Van Soest has an opponent for her Invicta FC debut, as the kickboxing standout will lock horns with Kalyn Schwartz at Invicta FC 19 on Sept. 23.
Invicta FC President announced the news during an appearance on the Sherdog Radio Network’s “Beatdown” show. Invicta FC 19 takes place at the Scottish Rite Temple in Kansas City, Mo., and features an interim flyweight title bout between Jennifer Maia and Roxanne Modafferi. The event will be streamed in its entirety on UFC Fight Pass.
A multiple-time world champion in muay Thai, Van Soest recently signed a joint agreement with Invicta and kickboxing organization Glory that would allow her to compete for both promotions. The 27-year-old made her Glory debut on May 13, taking a unanimous verdict over Esma Hasshass.
A native of Medford, Ore., Schwartz will also be making her professional debut. “.50 Kal” has a pair of documented amateur victories under the King of the Cage banner in 2015.
Note: The article initially said that Invicta FC 19 would mark Van Soest's MMA debut. However, Van Soest actually made her debut at an event in China on June 18, 2011, losing to Jin Tang via triangle choke in the first round.
