UFC 108 Payouts: Evans Earns $375,000
Monday, January 04, 2010
Rashad Evans survived a third-round burst from striker Thiago Silva to earn the unanimous nod and a $375,000 payday at UFC 108 last Saturday in Las Vegas. American Top Team’s Silva, who was stifled for major portions of the first and second rounds on his back, took home $55,000.

Evans, a former light heavyweight champion, has Quinton “Rampage” Jackson in his crosshairs next; the rival coaches from “The Ultimate Fighter 10” could meet in May, said UFC President Dana White.

Brit Paul Daley notched his second high-profile victory for the promotion, taking out jiu-jitsu specialist Dustin Hazelett with a stiff left hook and follow-up punches halfway through the first round. Daley enjoyed a $84,200 payday, including a $50,000 knockout bonus handed out by the promotion. Hazelett earned $19,800 in defeat, which included 10 percent of Daley’s purse after he failed to make weight the day before the bout.

Sam Stout rebounded from a first-round submission onslaught to out-point Joe Lauzon on its feet en route to a unanimous decision. Stout banked $74,000, while Lauzon took home $62,000. Both lightweights bolstered their purses with $50,000 “Fight of the Night” bonuses.
