UFC 120 Bonuses: Four Fighters Bank $60K

Before his encounter with Carlos Condit, Dan Hardy had never before been knocked out. In MMA, such streaks are notoriously fleeting.

Condit parked Hardy with a left hook and follow-up ground strike, as he banked a $60,000 “Knockout of the Night” bonus in the UFC 120 “Bisping vs. Akiyama” co-main event on Saturday at the O2 Arena in London. The 26-year-old Condit clipped Hardy with a crackling left hook that sent him to the mat in a semi-conscious state and finished off the Team Rough House standout soon after. The end came 4:27 into round one.

Based at Jackson’s Mixed Martial Arts, Condit now owns 25 finishes among his 26 career victories. The former World Extreme Cagefighting welterweight champion will carry a three-fight winning streak into his next Octagon appearance.

Meanwhile, British prospect Paul Sass capitalized in his promotional debut, as he earned a $60,000 “Submission of the Night” bonus following his triangle choke-induced tapout against Mark Holst in their preliminary lightweight battle. Holst waved the white flag 4:45 into the first round, as the 22-year-old Sass remained perfect in 11 professional outings.

Finally, “The Ultimate Fighter” Season 3 winner Michael Bisping and Yoshihiro Akiyama pocketed matching $60,000 “Fight of the Night” bonuses after their middleweight headliner ended in a unanimous decision for the Brit. Bisping, who carried 30-27 scores from all three cage-side judges, has won all 16 of his fights on British soil.

Updated at 11:15 p.m. ET to correct the bonus amounts.
