UFC 146 continues to take shape, as a lightweight battle pitting Edson Barboza against Evan Dunham has been added to the May 26 card.
Unbeaten in four Octagon appearances, Barboza (Pictured) delivered an early “Knockout of the Year” candidate at UFC 142 when he floored Englishman Terry Etim with a spectacular spinning wheel kick in the third round. The 26-year-old Brazilian also owns wins over Ross Pearson, Anthony Njokuani and Mike Lullo during his tenure with the promotion. Seven of Barboza’s 10 victories have come by knockout or technical knockout.
Dunham began his UFC career with four straight wins, but his ascension within the promotion was derailed by back-to-back losses to Sean Sherk and Melvin Guillard. Since then, the Xtreme Couture product has righted the ship, beating Shamar Bailey via unanimous decision last September and garnering a technical knockout victory over Nik Lentz at UFC on Fox 2. The 30-year-old has also defeated Tyson Griffin, Efrain Escudero, Marcus Aurelio and Per Eklund inside the Octagon.
