UFC 150 Bonuses: Cerrone Banks Extra $120,000; Bermudez, Guillard Pocket $60K Each

Donald Cerrone earned two UFC 150 bonuses on Saturday night, taking home $120,000 for his “Knockout of the Night”- and “Fight of the Night”-winning performance against Melvin Guillard, who pocketed an extra $60,000 in defeat.

Featherweight Dennis Bermudez also earned $60,000 for “Submission of the Night” after finishing Tommy Hayden on the undercard.

UFC 150 took place at Pepsi Center in Denver and saw Benson Henderson retain his lightweight title in a rematch with former divisional king Frankie Edgar in the evening’s main event.

Cerrone wasted no time in trying to take the fight to his former teammate, but Guillard was the fighter who drew first blood, dropping “Cowboy” with a stiff counter left hook. “The Young Assassin” aggressively pursued the finish, but Cerrone was able to survive and circle away, only partially regaining his senses before launching a lead-leg head kick that glanced off Guillard’s skull and put the Blackzilian on ice skates. Cerrone quickly finished his wounded man, flooring Guillard with a snapping right cross that halted the fight just 76 seconds into round one.

Bermudez may have supplemented his income on Saturday night, but only after he survived a brief scare midway through the opening frame. The “TUF 14” finalist was floored by a perfectly timed knee to the mug while shooting for a takedown. Though Hayden tried to capitalize by taking Bermudez’s back, the powerful wrestler escaped the position and locked up a standing guillotine choke after regaining his vertical base, forcing “Wild Card” to tap out with just 17 seconds remaining in the first frame.
