A featherweight confrontation pitting Steven Siler against Darren Elkins has been slated for UFC 154.
Siler confirmed the booking via Twitter on Monday night following an initial report from MMAWeekly.com.
UFC 154 takes place Nov. 17 at Bell Centre in Montreal and is headlined by a welterweight title unification bout between returning champion Georges St. Pierre and interim titlist Carlos Condit. The evening’s main card airs live on pay-per-view, while the prelims will be broadcast immediately prior on Facebook and the FX network.
Siler, 25, has already compiled 30 career outings to his credit in his seven years as a professional. Last year, the featherweight capped his stint on “The Ultimate Fighter” Season 14 by outpointing cast mate Josh Clopton at the Dec. 3 finale. Two more wins would then follow for Siler, who took a unanimous verdict from Octagon staple Cole Miller in March and then submitted newcomer Joey Gambino at June's UFC on FX 4.
Elkins, 28, also rides a three-fight winning streak heading into his showdown with Siler. The Hoosier posted a pair of wins in 2011, taking a controversial unanimous decision from Michihiro Omigawa at UFC 131 before closing out the year by outpointing Tiequan Zhang last October at UFC 136. Elkins was victorious in his lone appearance this year, weathering an early storm from Diego Brandao and then outlasting the hard-punching “TUF 14” winner en route to a unanimous nod from the judges at UFC 146.
