UFC 155 Salaries: Junior dos Santos ($400,000), Cain Velasquez ($200,000) Top Payroll
Junior dos Santos did not retain his heavyweight crown in the UFC 155 headliner on Saturday night, but he did leave the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas with the evening’s largest disclosed payday.
According to salary information released by the Nevada Athletic Commission on Monday, “Cigano” pocketed $400,000 in dropping a five-round verdict to Cain Velasquez, who earned $200,000 for regaining the belt he lost to dos Santos at UFC on Fox 1 in November 2011.
Additionally, former middleweight No. 1 contender Yushin Okami raked $84,000 for his unanimous decision triumph over Alan Belcher ($37,000), while Jim Miller made $82,000 in dispatching Joe Lauzon ($27,000) in a wildly entertaining co-main event.
Also on the main card, Constantinos Philippou ($36,000) earned the biggest win of his career to date, scoring a third-round technical knockout of rising contender Tim Boetsch ($37,000). Octagon debutante Derek Brunson ($30,000) kicked off the pay-per-view broadcast with a unanimous decision triumph against popular brawler Chris Leben ($51,000).

Additionally, the reported figures do not reflect any deductions made by the commission for taxes, insurance, etc., and do not include any sponsorship money that a fighter may acquire for their performance.
