UFC 175, ‘TUF 19’ Finale Salaries: Weidman ($450K), Edgar ($260K) Lead Payouts

By Mike Fridley Jul 7, 2014

Ultimate Fighting Championship middleweight champion Chris Weidman walked away from UFC 175 Saturday night with his title in tow and $450,000, which was the highest disclosed payout of a busy weekend of mixed martial arts in Las Vegas.

Weidman’s total is comprised of a $225,000 fight salary, as well as a victory bonus matching the same amount. The UFC 185-pound ace captured a unanimous decision against Lyoto Machida ($200,000) following five hard-fought rounds.

On Sunday at “The Ultimate Fighter 19” Finale, Frankie Edgar put the stamp on his trilogy with B.J. Penn and left town a richer man. The New Jersey native banked a total of $260,000 for his performance, a dominating third-round technical knockout of former two-division champion B.J. Penn ($150,000).

Nevada Athletic Commission officials released the salaries on Monday in an email to Sherdog.com staff. It should be noted that the totals from both events are just disclosed pay: the UFC often has other imbursement deals in place that are in addition to the tallies listed below, such as pay-per-view percentages and performance awards.
