Ruslan Magomedov will take on Richard Odoms inside the Octagon at UFC 177, which will be held at the Arco Arena in Sacramento on Aug. 30.
UFC officials announced the bout earlier this week.
The heavyweight pairing will provide support on the undercard of a pay-per-view event featuring two title fights. The first championship pairing is a rematch between T.J. Dillashaw and Renan Barao for the bantamweight strap, while the second sees Demetrious Johnson defend the flyweight crown against Chris Cariaso.
Magomedov first saw action under the Zuffa banner at UFC Fight Night “Mousasi vs. Munoz” against Viktor Pesta. The Dagestani fighter has gained notoriety during his current seven-fight win streak by defeating the likes of Tim Sylvia and Ricco Rodriguez.
Odoms enters the UFC fray after an impressive stint in Legacy Fighting Championships. The 39-year-old has lost once in his professional career, against Jared Rosholt at LFC 17. “The Black Eagle” was last in action at LFC 23 in September 2013, taking a decision victory over D.J. Linderman.
