A lightweight tilt between James Krause and Valmir Lazaro has been added to the UFC 184 lineup.
Promotion officials announced the pairing on Thursday. UFC 184 takes place on Feb. 28 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles and is headlined by a middleweight championship bout between Chris Weidman and Vitor Belfort. In the evening’s co-main event, Ronda Rousey will defend her bantamweight strap against Cat Zingano.
Krause has alternated wins and losses in four UFC appearances, posting victories over Sam Stout and Jamie Varner while falling to Bobby Green and Jorge Masvidal. The 28-year-old is 21-6 in his pro tenure, including 19 victories by knockout, technical knockout or submission.
Lazaro, meanwhile, had an 11-fight winning streak halted in his promotional debut, as he dropped a unanimous verdict to James Vick at UFC Fight Night “Henderson vs. dos Anjos.” The 29-year-old Brazilian has finished nine of his 12 career victories by knockout or technical knockout.
