UFC 185 Weigh-in Results: Anthony Pettis, Rafael dos Anjos Cleared for Title Headliner

By Brian Knapp Mar 13, 2015

Nothing moves the collective masses quite like a generational talent, and Ultimate Fighting Championship lightweight titleholder Anthony Pettis seems to possess such qualities.

Pettis tipped the scales at 155 pounds as he prepares to defend his crown against Rafael dos Anjos (155) in the UFC 185 main event on Saturday at the American Airlines Center in Las Vegas. Women’s strawweight champion Carla Esparza (115) and unbeaten challenger Joanna Jedrzejczyk (115) also met their contracted weight requirements for the co-headliner at Friday’s official weigh-in.

UFC 185 “Pettis vs. dos Anjos” -- which airs live on pay-per-view at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT -- will also feature a welterweight scrap pairing former champion Johny Hendricks (170) with Matt Brown (171), a heavyweight duel pitting onetime Strikeforce titleholder Alistair Overeem (247) against “The Ultimate Fighter” Season 10 winner Roy Nelson (254) and a flyweight clash matching 2008 Olympic gold medalist Henry Cejudo (125) with Chris Cariaso (126).

Two hours prior, the FX network will carry four preliminary bouts: Ross Pearson (156) vs. Sam Stout (156), Elias Theodorou (186) vs. Roger Narvaez (186), Daron Cruickshank (*157) vs. Beneil Dariush (156) and Jared Rosholt (245) vs. Josh Copeland (264). The three remaining undercard matches will stream to UFC Fight Pass at 6:30 p.m. ET/3:30 p.m. PT, as Roufusport’s Sergio Pettis (126) meets Ryan Benoit (126), Cage Warriors Fighting Championship veteran Joseph Duffy (156) faces Jake Lindsey (156) and Brazilian prospect Larissa Pacheco (136) battles Germaine de Randamie (136).
