Welterweight veteran Mike Pyle has a new opponent for UFC 187, as undefeated American Top Team product Colby Covington will fill in for the injured Sean Spencer.
Ultimate Fighting Championship officials announced the lineup change on Saturday. Spencer reportedly withdrew from the bout late last month after suffering an undisclosed injury.

Covington has won both of his UFC bouts since debuting in the Octagon last August, notching a first-round stoppage of Anying Wang and a third-round submission of Wagner Silva Gomes. The former Oregon State University wrestling standout owns a perfect 7-0 record, including five wins by way of submission.
A 15-year veteran of the sport, Pyle possesses more than five times the professional experience of his opponent. “Quicksand” holds a 9-5 UFC record with wins against the likes of Ricardo Almeida, Rick Story and Josh Neer. May 23 will mark six years to the day since Pyle made his Octagon debut at UFC 98.
