UFC 188 Weigh-in Results: Cain Velasquez, Fabricio Werdum Official for Unification Bout

Ultimate Fighting Championship heavyweight titleholder Cain Velasquez checked in at 242 pounds for his five-round unification bout with interim champion Fabricio Werdum (236) in the UFC 188 main event on Saturday at Mexico City Arena in Mexico City. Lightweight co-headliners Gilbert Melendez (156) and Eddie Alvarez (156) also met their mandated weight requirements without issue at Friday’s official weigh-in.

UFC 188 “Velasquez vs. Werdum” -- which airs live on pay-per-view at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT -- will also feature a middleweight clash pairing Kelvin Gastelum (185) with former Strikeforce champion Nate Marquardt (184), a featherweight tilt pitting Yair Rodriguez (145) against American Top Team’s Charles Rosa (145) and a women’s strawweight battle matching Tecia Torres (114) with Angela Hill (115).

Two hours prior, the FX network will carry four preliminary matchups: Henry Cejudo (125) vs. Chico Camus (126), Efrain Escudero (155) vs. Drew Dober (155), Alejandro Perez (136) vs. Patrick Williams (136) and Francisco Trevino (154) vs. Johnny Case (155). The two remaining undercard bouts will stream to UFC Fight Pass at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT, as Augusto Montano (170) meets Cathal Pendred (170) and Gabriel Benitez (145) faces Clay Collard (146).
