The UFC 191 lineup continues to grow, as a featherweight clash between Andre Fili and Clay Collard and a middleweight scrap pitting Joe Riggs against Ron Stallings have been added to the Sept. 5 card.
Anchored at Team Alpha Male in Sacramento, Calif., Fili has compiled a 2-2 record during his brief UFC tenure. He last appeared at UFC Fight Night in Brazil on March 21, when he tapped to a Godofredo Castro triangle choke in the opening frame.
Collard has lost two of three in the Octagon since making his debut with a TKO loss to featherweight contender Max Holloway a little more than a year ago. “Cassius” last appeared at UFC 188, where he dropped a unanimous verdict against Gabriel Benitez.
Riggs is moving up to 185 pounds after suffering consecutive losses to Ben Saunders and Patrick Cote at welterweight. The MMA Lab representative was supposed to face Uriah Hall at UFC Fight Night in Nashville but had to withdraw due to an undisclosed injury.
After falling to Hall in his Octagon debut, Stallings earned his first promotional triumph in April, as he outpointed Justin Jones at UFC Fight Night “Mendes vs. Lamas” in Virginia. “The Choir Boy” owns a 13-7 career mark, with all but one of his triumphs coming inside the distance.
