A women’s bantamweight clash between Julianna Pena and Jessica Eye is set for UFC 192.
A promotion official confirmed the pairing on Tuesday following an initial report from ESPN.com. UFC 192 takes place at the Toyota Center in Houston on Oct. 3 and is headlined by a light heavyweight title tilt between Daniel Cormier and Alexander Gustafsson.
Pena defeated Jessica Rakoczy to win “The Ultimate Fighter 18” in November 2013. “The Venezuelan Vixen” then suffered a devastating knee injury in training that kept her sidelined for more than a year. Pena returned to active competition at UFC Fight Night “Mendes vs. Lamas” in April, when she stopped Milana Dudieva via technical knockout in the first round.
Jessica Eye came up short in a title eliminator bout against Miesha Tate in her last outing, losing via unanimous decision at UFC on Fox 16 on July 25. The Ohio native is 1-2 with one no contest in the Octagon; her lone victory came over Leslie Smith at UFC 180.
