A featherweight clash pitting Brian Ortega against Diego Brandao has been added to the UFC 195 lineup.
Promotion officials announced the contest on Saturday. UFC 195 takes place at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Jan. 2 and is headlined by a welterweight title tilt between Robbie Lawler and Carlos Condit.
Ortega is unbeaten in 10 professional appearances and earned his first Octagon triumph with a third-round technical knockout of Thiago Tavares at UFC Fight Night in New Orleans on June 6. A previous victory over Mike de la Torre at UFC on Fox 12 was overturned after Ortega failed a post-fight drug test.
Brandao, who won Season 14 of “The Ultimate Fighter,” will carry a two-fight winning streak into the matchup with Ortega. The Brazilian scored a doctor stoppage triumph against Jim Hettes at UFC on Fox 15 in April before stopping Katsunori Kikuno in 28 seconds at UFC Fight Night in Japan on Sept. 26.
