Corey Anderson will square off against Tom Lawlor at UFC 197.
Promotion officials announced the light heavyweight contest on Wednesday. UFC 197 takes place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on March 5 and is headlined by a lightweight title tilt between Rafael dos Anjos and Conor McGregor. In the evening’s co-main event, Holly Holm will defend the bantamweight crown against Miesha Tate.
Anderson has gone 4-1 in the Octagon since appearing on “The Ultimate Fighter 19." “Beastin 25/8” enters the bout on the heels of consecutive triumphs over Fabio Maldonado and Jan Blachowicz and is 7-1 in his professional career overall.
Lawlor returned to the cage following a two-year hiatus at UFC on Fox 16, where he scored a second-round technical knockout victory over Gian Villante. The former middleweight made his promotional debut in 2008 and owns victories over the likes of C.B. Dollaway, Patrick Cote and Jason MacDonald.
