Darren Elkins will lock horns with Chas Skelly in a featherweight bout at UFC 197 on March 5.
Promotion officials announced the matchup on Tuesday. UFC 197 takes place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and is headlined by a lightweight championship clash pitting Rafael dos Anjos against Conor McGregor. In the co-main event, Holly Holm defends the bantamweight strap against Miesha Tate.
A 13-time Octagon veteran, Elkins has alternated wins and losses in his last six appearances. The 31-year-old Indiana native took a unanimous decision over Robert Whiteford in his last outing at UFC Fight Night “Holohan vs. Smolka” on Oct. 24. Elkins owns wins over the likes of Hatsu Hioki, Diego Brandao and Duane Ludwig during his promotional tenure.
After losing his UFC debut to Mirsad Bektic, Skelly has reeled off four straight victories within the Las Vegas-based organization. In 2015, the Team Takedown representative earned a technical knockout triumph against Jim Alers in February before submitting Edimilson Souza this past November.
