James Vick will square off against Glaico Franca in a lightweight tilt at UFC 197 on April 23.
Promotion officials announced the pairing on Tuesday. UFC 197 takes place at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and is headlined by a light heavyweight title rematch between Daniel Cormier and Jon Jones.
Vick, a cast member of “The Ultimate Fighter 15,” is unbeaten in eight pro fights, with four of those triumphs coming in UFC competition. Most recently, “The Texecutioner” submitted Australian prospect Jake Matthews with a first round guillotine choke at UFC Fight Night Miocic vs. Hunt this past May.
Franco, meanwhile, won Season 4 of “TUF:Brazil” by tapping out Fernando Bruno with a rear-naked choke 4:46 into the third frame of their encounter at UFC 190. That victory improved the 24-year-old to 13-3 over the course of a career that began in 2012.
