Former World Series of Fighting champion Jessica Aguilar will make her sophomore Octagon appearance at UFC 197 against Brazilian striker Juliana Lima.
UFC officials confirmed the matchup on Monday following a report from the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
UFC 197 takes place April 23 at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, with a light heavyweight title bout between reigning titlist Daniel Cormier and ex-champ Jon Jones set to headline the pay-per-view card.
Aguilar will once again go in search of her first UFC victory after dropping a unanimous decision to top contender Claudia Gadelha in her post-WSOF debut. Prior to that loss, the American Top Team product had gone unbeaten in her previous 10 fights over a four-year span, including a 5-1 run with Bellator MMA.
Lima could be looking toward 115-pound title contention as she goes for her third straight victory. Since falling to current champ Joanna Jedrzejczyk in her 2014 debut, “Ju Thai” has won back-to-back bouts, though she has been out of action since topping previously unbeaten Ericka Almeida in May 2015.
