UFC 198 ‘Werdum vs. Miocic’ Official for Soccer Stadium in Brazil on May 14
As expected, UFC Fight Night on May 14 has become UFC 198.
The Las Vegas-based promotion made the change official on Friday. Sherdog.com reported last month that the card would become a pay-per-view event and would be headlined by a heavyweight title clash between Fabricio Werdum and Stipe Miocic.
UFC 198 will take place at Arena da Baixada, a 40,000 seat soccer stadium in Curitiba, Brazil. The pay-per-view card also includes a middleweight showdown between Ronaldo Souza and Vitor Belfort as well as a welterweight class pitting Demian Maia against Matt Brown. The evening’s preliminary draw will air on Fox Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.
The promotion also revealed two additional bouts for the UFC 198 card on Friday: Yancy Medeiros will meet Francisco Trinaldo at lightweight, while Sergio Moraes will clash with Kamaru Usman at 170 pounds.
