No. 2-ranked lightweight contender Khabib Nurmagomedov simply dominated Michael Johnson for two-plus rounds before finally submitting him with a cross-body kimura in the third. Nurmagomedov was badly rocked early in the first from a series of punches from his American counterpart, but once “The Eagle” took Johnson down, it was over. Nurmagomedov used some of the most brutal ground-n-pound in years but Johnson was as tough as they come and never tried fighting back.
In the end, with Nurmagomedov destroying Johnson from mount and side control, the Russian powerhouse switched up his attack and tapped Johnson at the 2:31 mark at UFC 205 (online betting).
