Ronaldo Souza will lock horns with Tim Boetsch at UFC 208 in Brooklyn on Feb. 11.
Promotion officials confirmed the middleweight pairing to Newsday on Friday. UFC 208 takes place at the Barclays Center and is headlined by a women’s featherweight title bout between Holly Holm and Germaine de Randamie.
A former Strikeforce champion, Souza has lost just once in seven Octagon appearances: a contentious split verdict defeat against Yoel Romero at UFC 194. Most recently, “Jacare” stopped Vitor Belfort 4:38 into the opening round of their UFC 198 encounter.
Boetsch, meanwhile, enters the matchup on the strength of back-to-back KO/TKO triumphs. “The Barbarian” stopped the late Josh Samman in the second stanza at UFC Fight Night 91 on July 13 before knocking out Rafael Natal in the first frame at UFC 205 in his last outing.
