Brooklyn native Phillipe Nover will get a chance to compete on home soil when he faces Rick Glenn at UFC 208.
The promotion announced the featherweight pairing on Wednesday. UFC 208 takes place on Feb. 11 at the Barclays Center and is headlined by a bout between Holly Holm and Germaine de Randamie for the inaugural women’s featherweight championship.
Nover, 32, enters the matchup on a two-fight losing streak. In his only appearance of 2016, the Team Renzo Gracie product dropped a unanimous verdict to former 135-pound king Renan Barao at UFC Fight Night 95. Nover is 1-5 over the course of two UFC stints.
A former World Series of Fighting featherweight champion, Glenn made his Octagon debut at lightweight on short notice at UFC Fight Night 94, where he lost to Evan Dunham via unanimous decision. “The Gladiator” is 18-4-1 as a professional, with 10 wins via KO/TKO and five by submission.
