Bantamweight veteran Iuri Alcantara might as well change careers and become a magician because he pulled a win out of thin air just when he was on the verge of being stopped.
Luke Sanders wrecked Alcantara in the opening round and had him dangerously close to being taken out, but while “Cool Hand Luke” was slamming punches and elbows onto his from on top, he inexplicably landed a blatantly illegal knee to the head.
The move cost Sanders a point, but he continued his dominance into the second and, like the first, he was smashing the Brazilian to smithereens. That was until Alcantara rolled Sanders into a textbook kneebar to force the tap. The end came officially at 3:13 of the second.
