Thiago Santos will lock horns with Gerald Meerschaert in a middleweight bout at UFC 213.
Brazilian media outlet Combate was the first to report the booking. UFC 213 takes place at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on July 8 and features a bantamweight championship showdown between Cody Garbrandt and T.J. Dillashaw.
Santos halted a two-fight skid at UFC Fight Night 105, when he stopped Jack Marshman via technical knockout in the second round on Feb. 19. “Marreta” is 6-4 during his Octagon tenure overall and has finished all but one of his UFC victories inside the distance.
Meerschaert enters the matchup with Santos on a seven-fight winning streak that includes six triumphs inside of a round. The 29-year-old Roufusport product kicked off his UFC tenure with submissions of Ryan Janes and Joe Gigliotti in his first two appearances.
