Former women’s bantamweight title challenger Sara McMann will face Ketlen Vieira at UFC 214.
UFC President Dana White announced the matchup on the UFC “Unfiltered” podcast. UFC 214 takes place at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California, on July 29 and is headlined by a light heavyweight title rematch between Daniel Cormier and Jon Jones.
McMann enters the bout on a three-fight winning streak after defeating Gina Mazany, Alexis Davis and Jessica Eye in succession. The Olympic silver medalist in freestyle wrestling challenged for the 135-pound crown in her second Octagon appearance, losing to then champion Ronda Rousey via TKO in just 66 seconds at UFC 170. McMann is 5-3 in the Las Vegas-based promotion, with her other two defeats coming against ex-titlist Miesha Tate and reigning bantamweight queen Amanda Nunes.
Vieira, meanwhile, is 8-0 since beginning her professional career in 2014. The 25-year-old Brazilian debuted in the Octagon with a split decision over Kelly Faszholz at UFC Fight Night 96 before taking a unanimous verdict against Ashlee Evans-Smith at UFC on Fox 24 on April 15.
