A featherweight tilt pitting Enrique Barzola against Matt Bessette will complete the UFC 220 lineup.
Promotion officials announced the pairing on Friday. UFC 220 takes place at TD Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Jan. 20 and is headlined by a heavyweight title clash between Stipe Miocic and Francis Ngannou. In the co-main event, Daniel Cormier will defend the light heavyweight crown against Volkan Oezdemir.
The winner of Season 2 of “The Ultimate Fighter: Latin America,” Barzola has won three of his four Octagon appearances. The 28-year-old Lima, Peru, native last appeared at UFC 211, where he took a unanimous decision over Gabriel Benitez.
A veteran of Bellator and CES MMA, Bessette entered Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series 1 on a seven-fight winning streak. While he would fall to Kurt Holobaugh via first-round TKO, that bout was later overturned to a no contest after it was discovered that Holobaugh failed to disclose his pre-fight use of an IV.
