UFC 221 Weigh-in Results: Yoel Romero Almost 3 Pounds Overweight, Everyone Else on Point

By Jordan Breen Feb 9, 2018

We've still got some pounds to go.

UFC 221 features an interim Ultimate Fighting Championship middleweight title bout between Luke Rockhold and Yoel Romero to headline a night of action in Perth, Australia.

After losing to Robert Whittaker in his last fight, Romero will get another chance to fight for the interim crown after Whittaker pulled out of UFC 221 due to injury against former Strikeforce and UFC middleweight ruler Rockhold. Romero, however, weighed in at 187.8 pounds initially needed another two hours to make the middleweight mark. He and Rockhold (185) the scales prior to his attempt at a second UFC championship reign. "The Soldier of God" couldn't crack the co-title main event 185-pound limit, so only the belt will be on the line for Rockhold.

Co-headliners Mark Hunt (265) and 8-1 hot heavyweight prospect Curtis Blaydes (255) also stepped to the scales ahead of their highly anticipated meeting.

Damien Brown (156) and Dong Hyun Kim (156) headline the prelim card on Fox Sports 1 that also features the bout between Australian Rob Wilkinson (186) and New Zealand based Israel Adesanya (183).
