A women’s flyweight tilt pitting Bec Rawlings against Ashlee Evans-Smith has been added to the UFC 223 lineup.
The promotion confirmed the pairing to Newsday. UFC 223 takes place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., on April 7 and is headlined by a lightweight championship showdown between interim titlist Tony Ferguson and Khabib Nurmagomedov.
Rawlings will attempt to halt a three-fight skid when she faces Evans-Smith. Most recently, the Australian fighter dropped a split decision to Jessica-Rose Clark at UFC Fight Night 121 on Nov. 18. Rawlings is 2-4 during her promotional tenure overall.
Evans-Smith, meanwhile, went 0-2 in 2017, falling to Ketlen Vieira via unanimous decision at UFC on Fox 24 before tapping to a Sarah Moras armbar in the opening round at UFC 215. “Rebel Girl” is 2-3 in the Octagon and 5-3 as a professional overall.
