According to medical suspensions released by The Ontario Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport, Ortega will be out 180 days pending doctor clearance. While the exact nature of Ortega’s injuries were not announced, Ortega recently revealed in a social media post that he suffered a broken nose and broken thumb in the UFC 231 headliner.
UFC 231 took place at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and saw Holloway retain his featherweight crown with a fourth-round doctor stoppage of Ortega in the evening’s main event. Holloway received a 30-day sit following his victory.
