UFC 273 Weigh-in Results: Title Bouts Set; 2 Fighters Miss Weight

UFC 273's two title fights and main card bouts are all good to go after the official weigh-ins.

While headliners Alexander Volkanovski and Chan Sung Jung had no issue making championship weight, a pair of preliminary fighters struggled to hit their marks. The most notable miss came from Kay Hansen, who weighed in 2.5 pounds above the strawweight limit for her bout against Piera Rodriguez and has been fined 20% of her purse as a result. Additionally, Julio Arce missed the bantamweight limit by half a pound, and he will have to forfeit 20% of his purse to Daniel Gustavo Santos.

The defending featherweight champion Volkanovski (23-1) is on a remarkable run, having won every fight he has had in the Octagon. His impressive win streak dates back to 2013, although he had a close split decision victory over Max Holloway in their second encounter. "The Great" most recently dominated Brian Ortega in a crowd-pleasing title defense, and officially weighed 144.5 pounds.

"The Korean Zombie" has been a favorite of fans since his days inside World Extreme Cagefighting, and that popularity has only grown inside the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Jung (17-6) is coming off an impressive win over Dan Ige, and has won three of his last four bouts with the lone defeat coming to Ortega. The challenger stepped on the scale at 144.5 pounds.

Additionally, the title unification rematch between Aljamain Sterling and Petr Yan is set. This is Sterling's first fight since winning the title, which came as a result of Yan (16-2) being disqualified for an illegal knee. Sterling (20-3) weighed 134.5 pounds, while interim titleholder Yan came in at 134 pounds.

UFC 273's early prelims begin on Saturday at 6 p.m. ET/3 p.m. PT on UFC Fight Pass and ESPN+. Action then moves to ESPN and ESPN+ at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT, and the ESPN+ pay-per-view main card kicks off at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT.
