UFC 73: Gilliam Replaces Injured Fickett
Veteran Chris Lytle
(Pictures) has a new opponent for his
return to the octagon on July 7. Replacing an injured Drew Fickett (Pictures) is Jason Gilliam (Pictures), making the welterweight contest
in Sacramento, Calif. an all Hoosier affair.
In his lone UFC bout and MMA loss, Gilliam (Muncie, Ind.) was choked by Jamie Varner (Pictures) early in the opening round. Fighting out of Indianapolis, Ind., Lytle is one of the most experienced 170-pound mixed martial artists currently competing. He was a decision away from capturing the TUF 4 crown, which propelled Matt Serra (Pictures) to the UFC championship.
