UFC Announces Aurelio's Opponent
The UFC has officially announced that Marcus Aurelio will meet
Ryan Roberts on the April
2 Fight Night card in Broomfield, Colo.
It was reported earlier this week that Aurelio would likely meet lightweight prospect Jim Miller, fresh off his second round submission over Chris Liguori (Pictures) earlier this month. However, an existing contract between Miller and the IFL kept the fight from being finalized, MMAjunkie.com reported Thursday.
Aurelio was originally slated to fight Spencer Fisher (Pictures) before a shoulder injury sustained in training forced Fisher out of the bout.
The Brazilian lightweight will now meet Roberts in an untelevised preliminary bout on the April 2 undercard. Roberts, 29, is a midwest product coming off of a pair of wins last month over Zach Wolff and Joe Doherty.
