The Ultimate Fighting Championship made two announcements following UFC 171 on Saturday night, the first of which revealed the promotion’s intention to return to Texas this summer.
UFC President Dana White announced that the Las Vegas-based organization will revisit the Lone Star State on June 28, when the UFC hosts a Fight Night event from the AT&T Center in San Antonio. No bouts were announced for the event, which will air live on Fox Sports 1.
Shortly after announcing the UFC 171 bonus winners, White additionally revealed that fighters pocketing bonus money will now be eligible to win a Harley-Davidson motorcycle. According to White, a fan vote will decide which of the three bonus winners will take home a new ride from the UFC sponsor.
UFC 171 took place at American Airlines Arena in Dallas and was topped by a welterweight title showdown between Johny Hendricks and Robbie Lawler. The welterweights wowed in the evening’s pay-per-view headliner, with Hendricks edging Lawler in a hard-fought, five-round affair.
