UFC Announces Nov. 17 Undercard
While the main event between Michael Bisping (Pictures) and Rashad Evans (Pictures) on the upcoming UFC 78
pay-per-view card has been criticized by fans and media alike, few
can argue the quality of the Nov. 17 undercard at the Prudential
Center in Newark, New Jersey.
Joining Bisping-Evans, as well as announced pay-per-view bouts featuring light heavyweights Houston Alexander (Pictures) and Thiago Silva (Pictures); middleweights David Terrell (Pictures) and Ed Herman (Pictures); welterweights Karo Parisyan (Pictures) and Ryo Chonan (Pictures); and a highly anticipated lightweight clash between Frank Edgar (Pictures) and Spencer Fisher (Pictures), the UFC on Monday officially released four additional dark matches.
Veteran Chris Lytle (Pictures) matches up against dangerous American Top Team welterweight Thiago Alves (Pictures).
Youngster Joe Lauzon (Pictures), he of the stunning finish against Jens Pulver (Pictures) in 2006, fights veteran mixed martial arist yet UFC newcomer Jason Reinhardt (Pictures).
Each looking for his first win in the Octagon, lightweights Marcus Aurelio and Luke Caudillo in a three-round fight.
And Japan's Akihiro Gono (Pictures) makes his UFC debut against Tamden McCrory.
