Minutes after the conclusion of UFC Fight Night 37, the Ultimate Fighting Championship announced the date of its next trip to Macau.
UFC executive Mark Fischer revealed that the Las Vegas-based promotion plans to return to the Chinese special administrative region on Aug. 23.
Fischer also announced that the UFC will touch down on Japanese soil the following month when the organization hosts a Sept. 20 show at Saitama Super Arena. The UFC has made two trips to Japan during the Zuffa era, first staging UFC 144 in 2012 before returning to the country in March 2013 for UFC on Fuel TV 8.
The UFC Asia managing director also made a prediction for the promotion’s debut in the People’s Republic of China, though negotiations are still ongoing.
“We’re working on it,” Fischer said. “Nothing is for sure, but I will predict that we will have an event in mainland China in 2015.”
