For the first time in its history, the Ultimate Fighting Championship will broadcast a live event in 3-D.
“We’re really excited to start broadcasting UFC events in 3-D,” UFC President Dana White stated in a release. “UFC is ahead of the curve when it comes to introducing new technology and we think UFC fans will really enjoy seeing fights in 3-D.”
UFC fighter Kenny Florian and former World Extreme Cagefighting commentator Todd Harris have been tapped to provide play-by-play and commentary for the 3-D broadcast.
The event will be headlined by a welterweight bout pitting original “Ultimate Fighter” winner Diego Sanchez against dangerous Danish “Hitman” Martin Kampmann. Also included on the televised portion of the card are a pair of middleweight contests -- C.B. Dollaway vs. Mark Munoz and Alessio Sakara vs. Chris Weidman -- and a bantamweight bout featuring former WEC champ Brian Bowles and hard-hitting Damacio Page.
