UFC Cancels April 25 Tryouts for ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ Season 24
Ultimate Fighting Championship has canceled this month’s
casting call for the 24th season of its long-running reality show,
“The Ultimate Fighter.”
The organization on Tuesday issued a brief statement announcing the cancellation. Tryouts were set to take place in Las Vegas on April 25, two days after UFC 197.
“UFC apologizes for any inconveniences this cancelation has
caused,” the company stated. “More information about the next
season of the show will be made available in the weeks to
come.”
It was revealed last week that the winner of “TUF 24” will be awarded a shot at the UFC flyweight title currently held by divisional king Demetrious Johnson. Coaches for the season have not yet been announced.
The 23rd iteration of “TUF” debuts later this month, with UFC strawweight champ Joanna Jedrzejczyk and rival Claudia Gadelha set to coach a cast of 115- and 205-pound fighters.
