UFC Champ Conor McGregor to Appear in ESPN The Magazine’s ‘Body Issue’

At least one media obligation wasn’t too taxing for Conor McGregor.

The UFC featherweight champion will appear in the latest iteration of ESPN The Magazine’s “Body Issue,” according to a recent announcement from the Worldwide Leader. The full roster of athletes to appear will be announced on June 20, while the magazine will be released on July 8.

The “Body Issue” showcases athletes from various sports posing nude. McGregor joins Ronda Rousey, Miesha Tate, Jon Jones, Evangelista Santos and Cristiane Justino as the sixth mixed martial artist to appear in the issue. Rousey, the ex-bantamweight queen, was the cover girl of the 2012 edition.

McGregor recently met with UFC brass to smooth over a dispute that led to his removal from the UFC 200 headliner. One of McGregor’s main issues heading into the event was the amount of promotional work he was expected to handle. The Irishman characterized the encounter as a “good conversation,” and his rematch with Nate Diaz is now reportedly being targeted for UFC 202 on Aug. 20. Diaz defeated McGregor by second-round submission at UFC 196 on March 5.
