UFC Champ T.J. Dillashaw Opens As Betting Favorite Against Renan Barao at UFC 186

It’s the rematch that was supposed to headline UFC 177, but at UFC 186, T.J. Dillashaw will finally have an opportunity to defend his Ultimate Fighting Championship bantamweight crown against Renan Barao.

Two bookmakers have released their opening lines for the proposed title bout between Dillashaw and Barao, and both have listed the Nova Uniao product as the underdog. The championship fight will headline the promotion’s pay-per-view card on April 25 in Montreal.

According to BestFightOdds.com, the broker 5Dimes currently lists Dillashaw as the favorite at -230, while SportBet puts the odds at -221. On the opposite end, “The Baron” is getting play at +170 and +179. In layman’s terms, a bet of $230 or $221 on Dillashaw would net you an additional $100 (plus your investment), while a $100 wager on Barao would earn $170 or $179 (plus the $100 back).

These lines are subject to change and will fluctuate as more information regarding the bout becomes available. But for those looking to cash in on Dillashaw’s current streak, it will be harder to do so than when the fighters first met at UFC 173.
