Steven Siler will return to the cage on March 23 against Brazilian talent Rony Mariano Bezerra, according to a recent tweet from the American.
“Signing the bout agreement for March 23 [versus] Rony ‘Jason,’” Siler wrote. “[I’m] anxious to get back in that cage.”
The UFC has not yet officially announced an event for March 23, but the date will reportedly serve to host UFC Fight Night 38, according to Brazilian outlet Tatame, which also outlined the organization’s plan to rematch Dan Henderson and Mauricio Rua in the evening’s headliner.
Siler, 26, has gone 5-2 as a UFC featherweight since introducing himself as a cast member on “The Ultimate Fighter 14.” The Pit Elevated representative most recently saw a two-fight winning streak snapped in November, when he was outpointed by Dennis Bermudez at UFC Fight Night 31.
Bezerra was handed his first Octagon defeat on Nov. 9 by Jeremy Stephens, who brutally knocked out “Jason” with a head kick in just 40 seconds at UFC Fight Night 32. Prior to that setback, “The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil” winner had won his last eight fights, capping that stretch with a trio of UFC triumphs.
