Glover Teixeira didn't win a single round in his knockout loss to Alexander Gustafsson, but he's $50,000 richer anyhow.
Following Sunday's UFC Fight Night 109 card at the Ericsson Globe in Stockholm, Sweden, Ultimate Fighting Championship officials announced the event's bonuses: headliners Gustafsson and Teixeira both take home $50,000 for “Fight of the Night,” while undercarders Damir Hadzovic and Bojan Velickovic garnered “Performance of the Night” honors.
UFC officials announced the spoils following the event's conclusion.
In front of a partisan Swedish crowd, Gustafsson dismantled the Brazilian veteran Teixeira over five rounds, dodging his attacks while stinging him with right uppercuts, including an unblocked trio of them to set up the fight-ending salvo at 1:07 of the fifth round.
Both Hadzovic and Velickovic launched comebacks to earn their bonus checks. Hadzovic was down on the cards to Poland's Marcin Held before smashing him with a counter knee just seven seconds into the third and rinal round, while Velickovic punched out Sweden's Nicholas Musoke with just 23 seconds remaining in a bout he trailed in.
