A lightweight showdown between Ross Pearson and Dan Hooker has been added to the UFC Fight Night 110 lineup.
The promotion confirmed the bout on Tuesday after Hooker initially revealed the matchup to New Zealand-based sports talk station Radio Sport. UFC Fight Night 110 takes place at Vector Arena in Auckland, New Zealand, on June 10 and is headlined by a heavyweight tilt pitting Mark Hunt against Derrick Lewis.
Pearson, 32, enters the matchup on a three-fight skid after dropping successive decisions to Steven Ray, Jorge Masvidal and Will Brooks. “The Ultimate Fighter 9” winner has compiled an 11-10 record with one no contest during a tenure with the UFC that began in 2009. He owns notable wins over the likes of Paul Felder, Sam Stout, Gray Maynard and Dennis Siver, to name a few.
Hooker has alternated wins and losses in six Octagon appearances. “The Hangman” is coming off a decision defeat to rising star Jason Knight at UFC Fight Night 101 on Nov. 26. The 27-year-old Auckland native is 13-7 as a pro, with all but one victory coming inside the distance.
