UFC Fight Night 113 Gets Joanne Calderwood-Cynthia Calvillo Strawweight Clash

Joanne Calderwood will meet Cynthia Calvillo in a strawweight duel at UFC Fight Night 113, promotion officials announced Friday.

UFC Fight Night 113 takes place at SSE Hydro Arena in Glasgow, Scotland, on July 16 and is headlined by a welterweight tilt pitting Gunnar Nelson against Santiago Ponzinibbio. The evening’s main card will be televised on Fox Sports 1.

A Glasgow native, Calderwood will attempt to rebound from a first-round submission loss to current No. 1 115-pound contender Jessica Andrade at UFC 203 this past September. The Invicta Fighting Championships veteran owns triumphs over Valerie Letourneau, Cortney Casey and Seo Hee Ham in UFC competition.

Calvillo has made both of her first two UFC appearances on pay-per-view main cards. The Team Alpha Male product submitted Amanda Bobby Cooper in the opening stanza of her debut at UFC 209 before tapping out Pearl Gonzalez in the third frame at UFC 210 on April 8. Calvillo is unbeaten in bouts so far in her burgeoning professional tenure.
